Hello SRI Community,
We would like to share an update on the work of the Phoenix Committee and SRI Board in securing the legacy of SRI. We continue to plan for what comes next in the coming months when our ability to sustain ourselves as an independent organization is no longer feasible.
We have excellent proposals from four organizations that have a fierce commitment to educational excellence and equity, are like-minded souls, and have the wherewithal and resources to continue our mission. The Phoenix Committee carefully reviewed the proposals and discussed them with the board to ensure the future SRI’s work.
The board has taken the feedback form the Phoenix Committee and is engaging in further reflection and discussion. Once a decision is made about a new home for SRI, we will enter into negotiations to forge what the final outcome will look like. As you can imagine, this undertaking will involve legal expertise, patience, and vision. When negotiations have reached a point when we can announce a new home for SRI, you will hear about it right here. We estimate this process will take at least 1-2 months minimum.
We appreciate your continued support as we recognize the last 11 years as an independent organization, and plan for the next phase of our work. While our current priority is securing a new home, we are also exploring how to emotionally connect and close this chapter as a community and together embrace the next chapter. We will certainly need folks to shepherd this closure with us.
