In these strange and challenging times, the SRI Board of Directors wants you to know that we are thinking of you, and holding you and your family in our hearts. We miss you, and we trust that you are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic.
Like many families across the country, SRI is navigating new and unfamiliar ways of being together and supporting one another. As you might imagine, all of our springtime on-site institutes and events have been cancelled. Schools remain closed and in most districts, school budgets are frozen. As a result, we’ve been able to schedule only a few tentative sessions for the summer.
In the early weeks of the pandemic, SRI staff have been nimble in responding to your needs while prioritizing the health and safety of all:
- SRI Equity First Retreat and SRI Leading for Powerful Learning Institute will be delivered virtually this spring;
- Virtual Connections is open to all affiliates, Wednesdays at 10am CT;
- SRI Reflective Learning Communities are facilitated by board members. Please join us as we work to make meaning of teaching, leading, and learning during this pandemic.
While we’ve made key changes and improvements in this time of social distancing, we desperately need your financial support. Now, more than ever, our students need us to be fierce in our commitment to equity; we simply won’t be able to deliver on our promise to students unless we’re able to generate revenue through generous contributions from you, our SRI affiliates.
Please consider making a generous donation to SRI now.
In the next couple of days, we’ll send a survey to all SRI affiliates to gather opinions on our current fund-raising opportunities and to solicit ideas for future giving. Please complete and return as soon as possible. Your anonymous responses and recommendations will be very much appreciated.
