Winter Meeting January 15-17, 2015, Tucson, Arizona

October 8, 2014

Winter Meeting is just four short months away and we cannot wait for you to join us in Tucson, Arizona. The planning committee has been working diligently to develop an agenda that allow you to experience Tucson, AZ and dive deep into the practices of SRI with your colleagues. Winter Meeting registration has opened and now we want to solicit your feedback on a program element and share our scholarship opportunity.

Scholarships for Winter Meeting

Thank you so much to those of you who generously donated, allowing SRI to provide scholarship support for Winter Meeting to dozens of educators who might not otherwise be able to attend. If you would like to support an educator in need, we are still accepting donations! Click here to donate to the Faith Dunne-Nancy Mohr Scholarship Fund.

Scholarship Applications are now Available

SRI strives to make the Winter Meeting financially accessible to all its affiliates.  Thanks to the generous contributions of many of you to SRI’s Faith Dunne-Nancy Mohr Scholarship Fund we are able to offer scholarships to participants who need financial assistance.

If you are in need to financial assistance to attend the 2015 Winter Meeting, please complete the scholarship request form by November 5th. Remember, you must be an affiliate to apply for a scholarship, and you will be asked to log in or join as an affiliate prior to applying.

Scholarships apply to the registration fee only. SRI cannot allocate scholarship support for travel or lodging.

Learning Experiences at Winter Meeting

In addition to small groups, we are taking time at Winter Meeting to offer a variety of extended Learning Experiences to allow participants to engage new skills and deepen their practice.

Our intention is to ensure that the variety of Learning Experiences mirror the guiding principles of SRI, as well as offer both new and experienced participants opportunities to extend their learning. So, we need your help!

We are looking for suggestions for three-hour Learning Experiences.

  • Maybe you are the person who can offer a session
  • Maybe you know someone who can offer a session
  • Maybe there is a session that you really wish someone would offer

Please take some time to think about what you would like to see available at Winter Meeting, as well as your own skills and/or wishes, and send an email to Kari (kthierer@schoolreforminitiative.org) with your suggestions. A quick email is all we need – we really want to hear from you! We will take suggestions until October 31st, and then the Learning Experiences committee will cull through the responses to develop the final sessions, with the intention of announcing them in November. You can browse Learning Experiences  from last year for ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to support the development of what we are sure will be an amazing Winter Meeting!

On behalf of the School Reform Initiative,
