Have an idea? Let’s talk about it! Join an upcoming conversation with the Executive Director. Make your voice heard SRI. Whether it’s something we haven’t thought about during Fall Meeting, an upcoming Equity Retreat, the latest issues in education regarding equity that we should be talking about, or a new webinar you’d like to see, I want to know what you think – and so does the SRI board of directors. Over the next few months, I’ll be listening to your insights, taking notes, and turning your opinions into action.

Sharing Stories of Courage to Cultivate Powerful and Inclusive Learning Communities
You are invited to engage your students in a powerful conversation about gender bias in America and provide them with the opportunity to share their own stories of courage.
Inspired by the film This Changes Everything, the 1000 Acts of Courage Campaign (led by Carol Myers, SRI Affiliate) intends to give voice to the silence, to help students recall actions they have taken, and to share their courageous experiences that have interrupted the discrimination that exists against girls and women.
By contributing an act of courage, your students will put themselves in the mindset of being creators of change, increasing the likelihood that they will act courageously again. By sharing these acts of courage, we intend to both honor those who have spoken and inspire all of us in bringing about a world where girls and women have equal opportunities to thrive.
Your students are invited to share their own act of courage on behalf of girls and women. One student’s story will be selected randomly and he/she will receive $50 as a thank you for participating. One student’s story will be selected because of the act of courage and he/she will receive a $100 for sharing his/her experience.
The deadline for submitting an Act of Courage on line is February 22nd.

Fall Meeting Pre-Conference Call for Proposals
Pre-conference sessions take place on Wednesday, the day before the start of Fall Meeting and provide an opportunity for participants to extend their learning while in Cambridge.
Do you have an idea for a pre-conference session for the 2019 Fall Meeting that you would like to offer? Are you using SRI tools and practices in exciting ways that you’d like to share with others? Pre-conference sessions may be full or half-day and can be on-site in one of our conference rooms or off-site at a school or other location within the city.
All pre-conference proposals are due by March 29th, 2019, and selections will be made by the beginning of April 12th, 2019.
If you are interested in proposing a pre-conference session, please utilize the pre-conference proposal form, and submit it no later than March 29th, 2019. Have a request for a pre-conference that you would like to attend? Email Deirdre Williams (deirdre@schoolreforminitiative.org) and she will try to find facilitators to prepare a pre-conference session that meets your needs!
