Hello SRI Community Member,
Educational equity is adaptable, individually-focused, and fair. One lesson from 2020 is that leading and teaching in cultural, social, and political turmoil requires a commitment to uphold the educational rights of all students. It requires all educators, whether face-to-face or virtual, to focus on ensuring that school and classroom culture and climate advances humanity, dignity, and respect for all students.
SRI is fiercely committed to educational equity and excellence, and we cannot do this work without your support! Our goal for 2021 is to help educators remember why they became educators, and to do whatever we can to not only help them to ‘feel’ supported, but to actually ‘be’ supported, and work together to create the schools our students deserve.
We are charging forward with a campaign goal of $25,000 for #KeepingEquityFirst2021! Please give, then challenge someone to give also. Every gift counts.
This year we will offer several affiliate-only monthly events starting with How Are You? Mental Health Awareness and Self-Care, Part I, January 27, 2021 @ 3:30 EST.
Future events will include:
- Microaggressions
- Dismantling White Supremacy Culture
- Looking at Data through an Equity Lens
- Leading Change in Education by Removing Barriers for Students
- Understanding the Four I’s of Oppression and Their Impact in Schools
