Make a Difference in the Life of an Educator

August 25, 2014

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you prepare for the upcoming school year, we are writing to ask for your help. The School Reform Initiative has an enduring commitment to providing financial support to each and every educator who wishes to attend Winter Meeting. Over the past five years, no one has been denied support, as we have been successful in providing scholarships to all those who have applied. You can help us to uphold this commitment by clicking here to contribute to the Dunne/Mohr Scholarship Fund. A donation of $425 will cover the full registration fee for a colleague, and a gift of any amount  – $10, $50, or $100 – will go a long way.

“What a great gift it was to have this time with colleagues who shared a vision and skilled practice.”

SRI is preparing to open applications for scholarships in September for the 2015 Winter Meeting, and we need your gift now in order to provide the greatest number of scholarships.  Our first goal is to raise 15 Scholarships for SRI colleagues by October 15, 2014. Please give if you can and pass this on to a friend, colleague or family member to support this worthy cause that you know can make the difference in the life of an educator. This is your opportunity to directly support your colleagues and classroom teachers nationwide with a gift to the scholarship fund. This fund is solely supported by the generosity of donors like you, and it needs a gift from you right now to benefit an educator in need.

This was one of the most rewarding and engaging professional development activities I’ve ever completed. I will sing the Winter Meeting’s praises for years to come and encourage others to attend as well.

The Dunne/Mohr Scholarship Fund honors the legacies of two pioneering colleagues – Faith Dunne and Nancy Mohr.  Faith and Nancy championed teachers and administrators as leaders of school reform and were instrumental in introducing thousands of educators to teacher collaboration, critical friendship, and facilitative leadership as tools to realize educational equity and excellence. Faith passed away in 2001 and Nancy in 2003, and they have left a huge impact on our community and we honor their commitment and memories by supporting educators through scholarship funds.

You can read more about their legacies on the SRI web site. You can celebrate their efforts and insure that their legacies endure by donating to the scholarship fund today.

Your gift of any size will make a difference. Your donation will ensure that every educator, regardless of financial resources can attend the 2015 Winter Meeting.

Thank you,

P.S. The sooner you contribute, the sooner we can award your gift as a scholarship, so please give today.
