Dear SRI Colleagues,
I am thrilled to be writing to you today at the conclusion of our fourth board election cycle. It’s heartening to realize that progress toward a thoughtful vision of a democratic and transparent SRI organization is really happening. I thank you all for another year of committed work and care of SRI.
This year, our nominating committee, co-chaired by Ileana Liberatore and Jean-Jacques Credi, did a remarkable job and presented a slate of eight strong candidates. Now, I am thrilled to announce the three new SRI Board members, elected by our affiliates around the country:
Debbi Laidley – California – re-elected to the board
Their positions on the SRI Board take effect in January and their first board meeting will be on Saturday of Winter Meeting in Boston.
Our deepest thanks go to our departing board members, Ileana Liberatore and Gillian Smith, for their service as board members. It is impossible to imagine the work of the past several years without the contributions, thinking, and energy of these colleagues and leaders. We have been a stronger group because of Gillian and Ileana – smarter and wiser and more capable because of their work and dedication.
Departing Board Members:
Ileana Liberatore – Texas
Gillian Smith – New York
Thank you to all the voting affiliates for your presence and voice in our organization, and for helping shape the direction of the School Reform Initiative.
Here’s to our New Year and the wonderful work we’ll do together.
See you in Boston,
Teri Schrader
On behalf of the SRI Board
