Tucson SRI Affiliates Host EdCamp
The CITY Center for Collaborative Learning in Tucson, AZ, recently held the first Tucson EdCamp. EdCamps are part of an innovative international movement. SRI affiliate JoAnn Groh shares her reflection on the Tucson EdCamp and why SRI affiliates should consider this ‘unconference’ format.
Join SRI Colleagues at CES Fall Forum 2015
This year, the Coalition of Essential Schools Fall Forum is being held in Portland, Maine, November 5-7, 2015. The theme is Connecting Conversation and there will be a large SRI representation: SRI affiliate Kim Carter will be the keynote speaker; and many SRI affiliates and friends will be offering workshops including:
- Teri Schrader: Essential Conversations: ReEnvisioing the Faculty Meeting
- Gene Thompson–Grove: Designing Adult Learning
- Dan Condon: How to make change stick – the secret sauce in implementation
- Beth Graham: What are They Thinking? The Power of Reflection in Emerging Teacher Practice
- Elizabeth Hearn: Creating an intensive experience of homelessness for middle school students to increase recognition of bias and extend capacity for compassion.
- Marilyn Wentworth: Making Connections in Your Community
New at this year’s Fall Forum, CES will be sponsoring an EdCamp (see JoAnn’s write up about the Tucson version). The CES EdCamp will be held the final day of Fall Forum.

Save the Date – Experienced Facilitators Retreat
