SRI Affiliation

“The School Reform Initiative creates transformational learning communities fiercely committed to educational excellence and equity.”

In the past year SRI has put in place multiple processes and policies to create an inclusive and democratic organization. For example, SRI offered learning grants to SRI community members to support research and innovation regarding our work. And, we put in place an open and transparent process to identify facilitators to lead work contracted through the national center.  And, now we are instituting our very first board of directors elections, scheduled to be held during the month of December.

As part of the election, the SRI board is asking everyone who is interested in voting to first declare themselves a “School Reform Initiative Affiliate.” We see this process as a way to identify the active citizens of SRI.  Becoming an “SRI Affiliate” will allow you to participate in the SRI community in many ways – some of which we know and some of which we know will evolve.  On our immediate horizon, affiliation will enable to you to vote in the very first SRI board election, make you eligible for our next round of SRI Learning Grants and allow you to apply as a facilitator for future SRI National Work.

Becoming an “SRI Affiliate” is a one-time process.  There is no financial requirement or obligation associated with becoming an SRI Affiliate.

We believe that this is an important step in identifying our colleagues who are working together to create our organization, one that is “fiercely committed to educational equity and excellence.” Please join us.
