SRI Summer Learning Opportunities

Looking for learning opportunities this summer?  Need to experience the power of collaboration so you can head back to school in the fall with new ideas and approaches? The School Reform Initiative events calendar offers an array of opportunities hosted by our affiliates around the country and globe.  If you’ve never been through a 5-day SRI seminar or if you have, but it’s been several years, we are certain you will find something in our calendar to help further your learning.

The foundation of our work can be learned in the institutes designed to teach the Principles and Practices of SRI Critical Friendship. These introductory sessions are being offered all over the country this summer and are designed for learners who have never been through a 5-day SRI seminar.  And, because we are always learning more as we do this work, which often leads to changes in the seminar itself, those who have attended in the past often like to return.  All are welcome!  This summer, these sessions are offered in:

In addition to the Principles and Practices of SRI Critical Friendship, there are a number of other professional learning opportunities available. Have you been through a 5-day SRI institute and are looking to continue your learning?  Are you interested in developing your facilitation skills and learning how to build effective agendas? Do you want to dive deep into issues of equity in your practice?

Our affiliates are offering sessions designed to meet your needs.  Check out these learning experiences:

Facilitative Leadership
Educators routinely engage in collaborative learning in various settings such as grade-level and content area teams, book groups, study groups, action research and data analysis teams, administrative or leadership teams, school and district committees, and many others. Often, these groups do not have the knowledge and skill to be as highly effective, efficient, and successful as they could be. These sessions are designed for professional educators who have experience in collaborative practices and want to deepen their understanding of responsive facilitation.

Coaching for Educational Equity
These sessions are designed for anyone seeking to lead and facilitate professional learning spaces committed to educational equity. Specifically, participants will learn to use tools and hold space for the discourse about race and equity that those we serve – especially those least reached in our society – need us to have.

Topic-Based Seminars and Retreats
These sessions offer experienced practitioners an opportunity to reflect and explore specific topics related to their work, rooted in the mission of SRI.
