We hope that you are getting into the work and spirit of fall and have a chance to enjoy the change of seasons. There are several upcoming deadlines and reminders for the Winter Meeting and SRI board election that we would like to share.

SRI Winter Meeting January 15-17, 2015, Tucson, Arizona
Small group facilitator application extended to next Wednesday, November 5th.
We have extended the application period for small group facilitators, so if you are considering facilitating a small group at the 2015 Winter Meeting, please apply now. Facilitating a small group at Winter Meeting – helping a group coalesce, attending to the needs of adults at different stages in their facilitative development, nurturing risk-taking, providing opportunities for reflective discourse – is a rich and rewarding experience! SRI Winter Meeting scholarship application deadline is next Wednesday, November 5th.
SRI strives to make the Winter Meeting financially accessible to all its affiliates. Thanks to the generous contributions of many of you to SRI’s Faith Dunne-Nancy Mohr Scholarship Fund we are able to offer scholarships to participants who need financial assistance. If you are in need of financial assistance to attend the 2015 Winter Meeting, please complete the scholarship request form by November 5th. Remember, you must be an affiliate to apply for a scholarship, and you will be asked to log in or join as an affiliate prior to applying. Winter Meeting Early Bird Registration deadline is Tuesday, December 2nd.
Register by December 2, 2014 and receive the Early Bird rate of $399. Register after December 2, 2014 at the standard conference rate of $425. On top of the financial benefit of registering early, you will also secure your seat at Winter Meeting. Due to limits on meeting space, we will close registration when we reach 240 participants, and we anticipate selling out earlier than ever. Don’t delay, register now to make sure we see you in January.
Winter Meeting Hotel Room rate deadline is December 29th.
The Winter Meeting will take place at the Marriott University Park in Tucson, Arizona. The hotel conference rate is $149/night, but only as long as rooms are available. Along with having less meeting space, there are also fewer hotel rooms available this year, so we anticipate running out. Be sure to book your room early to take advantage of our conference rate and ensure you are staying at the meeting hotel.
Remember to Vote in the SRI Board Election
With a slate of excellent candidates and a new approval voting process, voting in the SRI board election is no easy task this year. Be sure to give yourself some time to get to know the candidates and cast your votes for all the candidates you believe will best serve in the capacity of board member for SRI. Voting is open through midnight on December 5, 2014.
Please visit our website to read about this year’s candidates. The three candidates who receive the most votes will be named as members of the SRI board for a term of three years.
If you are already an SRI Affiliate, a ballot was sent to the email address you used to affiliate. When you are ready, simply cast your votes for the candidates you approve. If you did not receive a ballot and you believe you are an affiliate, we updated our process to be an annual commitment last year, so please follow the link to the application below. If you have any problems, please contact Chris at chris@schoolreforminitiative.org.
If you are not yet an SRI Affiliate but would like to participate in this election, you may do so by completing the affiliate form found at schoolreforminitiative.org/sri-affiliate-application/. Once you’ve submitted an affiliation form, a ballot will be sent to you via email. It should arrive within 12 hours of your affiliation form submission. If you do not receive a ballot or have difficulty completing the form, please contact Chris at chris@schoolreforminitiative.org. Once you affiliate through the link above, you will receive an annual reminder to renew your affiliation with SRI.
