Teach To Lead – Boston Event

SRI Board Member Gene Thompson-Grove shared this information via our Facebook Group and we wanted to make sure more folks saw the opportunity. Teach To Lead is a national initiative jointly convened by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and by the U.S. Department of Education working to advance student outcomes by expanding opportunities for teacher leadership. The website has a place where teacher leaders can submit ideas about teacher leadership that are shared publicly. Additionally, they have held two events throughout the country, with a third event scheduled in Boston February 6-8, 2015.  They are accepting idea submissions for the regional Boston Teacher Leadership Summit – and it would be fabulous to have lots of SRI colleagues share the amazing work they are doing. Click here to learn more about the regional event and submit an idea for consideration.

Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color Annual Gathering of Leaders

COSEBOC is an SRI partner organization and they recently announced the call for workshop proposals for their annual Gathering of Leaders. This year’s event will be held in Memphis, TN, April 22-24 with the theme “I Am a Young Man: Honoring My Past, Celebrating My Present, Anticipating My Future”. This is an excellent gathering and an outstanding organization to support. Take a look at their website to learn more about their work, the Gathering of Leaders, and to submit a workshop proposal.
