Hello SRI Community,
Another busy summer has ended with SRI facilitators having conducted over 40 collaborative learning events across the country and internationally. This means there are hundreds of new SRI colleagues to welcome into our organization!
We are so thankful for the people in our SRI community and we invite you to become an SRI affiliate, to work with us to serve our mission to create transformational learning communities fiercely committed to educational equity and excellence.
SRI affiliation is simple and there is no financial requirement. SRI affiliation is now an annual process and will insure that our database information is up-to-date and will support the development of regional connections. Additionally, the process provides an opportunity to reflect on the mission and guiding principles of SRI and connect them to your professional practice. This information helps us better understand how the work of SRI is making a difference throughout our community, and be one touchstone as we think about ongoing support and development for our network.
Becoming an affiliate will allow you to participate in the SRI community in many ways. SRI affiliates are eligible to:
- Run for election to the Board of Directors
- Serve on work groups
- Vote in elections
- Apply for scholarships through the Faith Dunne and Nancy Mohr Scholarship Fund
- Apply for SRI Learning Grants
- Apply to be a facilitator for work contracted through the national center
We announced the call for nominations for the 2014 SRI Board elections yesterday and nominations are now open. We are ready for you to nominate some excellent candidates for the three open seats on the SRI Board of Directors!
Becoming an affiliate will secure your ability to vote in the upcoming board election. You must be an affiliate in order to vote and only those that are affiliated will receive a ballot.
Affiliation also allows you to apply for a scholarship for the 2015 Winter Meeting in Tucson, AZ. Registration opened last week, and the scholarship applications for the Faith Dunne and Nancy Mohr Scholarship Fund will be available in late September. If you are interested in applying for a Winter Meeting scholarship, be sure to affiliate now, so you can immediately access the scholarship application when it is opened.
